Setting up a Tax-exempt rule in your Wholesale Pricing Discount app is essential for businesses that need to comply with tax regulations and offer Tax exemptions to eligible customers in specific regions.
Important Notes:
To see the tax-excluded/included prices, a customer/s needs to be logged in and a customer discount ‘tag’ should be added for that customer/s in the WPD app. This support guide will walk you through the process step-by-step to ensure a smooth and accurate setup for tax-inclusive or tax-exclusive product prices for your customers from specific countries.
Step 1: Navigate to Tax Settings
- Once inside the app, look for the settings or configuration menu. This is typically represented by a gear icon or labeled as Settings.
- Click on the Tax display menu on the left navigation bar that manages tax rules and exemptions.
Step 2: Add a New Tax Display Rule
- In the Tax display rules section, locate the option to add a new tax rule. There’s a button labeled Add rule. Click on it.
- Now, in the Create new tax display rule window, Add a Rule name and Applicable countries/regions (in the below example we’re setting up VAT-exclusive product prices for the Germany region - shown in the below image)
- Also, add the Tax percentage of the specific region (here we displayed 19% i.e. standard tax rate in Germany on e-commerce products)
- Now, select the Tax excluded price radio button and add the text label to display on the product page/s of your Shopify store.
- Hit the Save button to save your tax settings.
Step 3: Do the Tax settings in your Shopify Admin Settings
To enable tax settings in your WPD app, do the following:
