This article explains how our Wholesale Helper app free trials work, what happens if you uninstall and reinstall, and when you’ll be charged.
Quick summary
> Your free trial is offered only on the first-ever install of the app on a store.
> If you uninstall during the trial and reinstall later, Shopify usually continues the same trial — meaning you’ll only have the remaining trial days left.
> Shopify charges you after the trial ends, as part of your Shopify billing.
(1) When do trial days start?
Your trial starts immediately when you approve the app charge during installation (this is done inside Shopify).
Example:
> App trial is 14 days
> You install and approve the charge on Feb 12
> Your trial runs from Feb 12 → Feb 25
(2) What if I uninstall during the trial?
If you uninstall while still in the trial period:
> You won’t be charged for the unused days.
> The trial time you already used is still counted as used.
Example:
> Trial = 14 days
> You use 5 days, then uninstall
> You used 5 trial days already
(3) What if I reinstall later?
If you reinstall after uninstalling, Shopify typically restores our app subscription with the remaining trial days, not a fresh new trial.
Example:
> Trial = 14 days
> You used 5 days, then uninstall
> You reinstall later ➡️ You should see 9 days left in trial (14 − 5).
This is normal behavior. Shopify tracks trial usage at the store level for that app.
(4) When will Shopify charge me?
Shopify charges you:
> when the trial ends, and
> according to your Shopify billing cycle (you’ll see it on your Shopify invoice)
So you might see:
> the trial ending on a certain date, and
> the charge appearing on your next Shopify invoice / billing statement.
You can check this in:
Shopify Admin → Settings → Billing → Upcoming Bill → View bill → Details → App
(5) Will I be charged immediately after installing?
Not if you’re on trial.
You’ll only be charged immediately if:
> there is no trial available on that store (for example, trial already used), or
> you’re reinstalling and the trial has already ended
(6) Common questions
“I uninstalled, why did I still get charged?”
Possible reasons:
> The trial already ended before uninstall.
> The billing was already scheduled in the current billing cycle.
> The charge is for a period that already started.
If you share a screenshot of your App charges page, we can confirm the timeline. reach out to us at themes@wholesalehelper.io
“Do I get a new trial if I reinstall?”
Usually no — the app trial is for the first-ever install on that store, and Shopify continues the remaining days on reinstall.
