Using Shopify Sidekick with Wholesale Pricing Discount B2B

Wholesale Pricing Discount B2B (WPD) now connects to Shopify Sidekick, Shopify's built-in AI assistant. Ask Sidekick about your wholesale pricing setup right from the Shopify admin, no need to open WPD or click through its settings screens.

What can Sidekick tell you about WPD?

Sidekick can answer questions about:

→ Your discount groups and which customers are assigned to them
→ Volume discounts and pricing tiers
→ Net payment terms
→ Customer-specific pricing, including what price a particular buyer sees for a given product

Example questions:

  • "How many discount groups do I have with WPD?"
  • "What discount group is this customer in?"
  • "What price does this customer get for this product?"

When relevant, Sidekick's answer links directly to the right screen in WPD so you can review or make changes yourself.

Sidekick is read-only

Sidekick can explain your current wholesale setup, but it can't make changes. It won't edit discount groups, update prices, or move customers between groups. If something needs changing, Sidekick points you to the right place in WPD to do it. Live pricing changes stay in your hands.

How to ask Sidekick about your WPD setup

  1. Open Shopify Sidekick from your Shopify admin by clicking on button on the top right.
  2. Type your question about discount groups, pricing tiers, or customer pricing.
  3. First time only: Sidekick asks for permission to access your WPD app data. Select "Yes" to allow it.
  4. Sidekick shows a brief "working" indicator while it pulls your data, then returns an answer, often with a summary, links to the relevant discount groups, and sometimes a note about your setup (as shown in the image above).

Do I need to set anything up?

No. If you're already using WPD, the Sidekick integration works automatically. You won't need to reapprove app permissions or change how you use WPD. The only prompt you'll see is the one-time (or per-session) data access permission above.

A note on accuracy

Sidekick reads directly from your live WPD data, so its answers reflect your actual setup, including any test, duplicate, or unused discount groups you've created. If a Sidekick summary looks off or includes groups you don't recognize, check your discount groups in WPD to confirm everything is set up as intended.
