Wholesale Pricing Discount B2B automatically tags the orders that are placed through the app, so you can tell wholesale orders apart from retail orders in Shopify. You can now also add your own tags on top of those, so wholesale orders carry the labels your store already uses for filtering, routing, and reporting.
This article covers where the setting lives, how to set your tags, and which orders they apply to.
Before you start
- Your tags are added on top of the tags the app already applies. They do not replace them, so any Shopify filter, flow or report built on the existing app tags keeps working.
- The field is empty by default. Nothing changes on your orders until you save a tag.
- Tagging applies to new orders only. Orders placed before you saved your tags are not retagged.
Set your order tags
- Open WSH Wholesale Pricing app from your Shopify admin.
- Go to Settings > General > Order tags
- Enter the tags you want to apply, separated by commas. For example: wholesale, b2b, priority-fulfilment
- Save your changes.
From this point on, every new wholesale order placed through the app carries both the app's own tags and the tags you entered.
Which orders get your tags
| Order type | Gets your custom tags |
|---|---|
| Wholesale orders placed by customers through the app | Yes |
| Manual wholesale orders created in the app | Yes |
| Net terms orders | No, these use the separate net terms tag setting |
| Orders placed before you saved your tags | No, tagging applies going forward only |
Tag rules and limits
- Separator: use a comma between tags. Spaces around the comma are fine.
- Length: each tag can be up to 255 characters.
- Clearing tags: leave the field empty to stop adding custom tags. Orders already tagged keep the tags they were given.
- Net terms orders: these are tagged through their own net terms setting, not this one.
Using the tags in Shopify
Once your tags are applied, you can use them anywhere Shopify reads order tags:
- Filter your orders. In Shopify admin, go to Orders, then filter by Tagged with and choose your tag.
- Route or automate. Use the tag as a condition in Shopify Flow or in your fulfilment and 3PL rules.
- Report. Segment wholesale revenue in Shopify reports and exports by the tag.
Frequently asked questions
1. Why is my tag missing from an older order?
Tagging applies going forward only. Orders placed before you saved your tags are not retagged. If you need older orders labelled, you can add the tag to them manually in Shopify admin.
2. Do my tags replace the tags the app already adds?
No. Your tags are added alongside the app's tags. Anything you have built on the existing tags continues to work.
3. Why are my net terms orders not picking up these tags?
Net terms orders have their own tag setting, which is configured separately in the net terms section of the app.
4. Can I use a tag that already exists in my store?
Yes. If the tag is already in use, the order is simply added to that tag in Shopify.
5. I saved a tag, but new orders still do not show it.
Check that the order was placed through the app rather than as a standard retail checkout, and that it is not a net terms order. If the order qualifies and the tag is still missing, contact support with the order number.
