Plan: Enterprise
Request a Quote lets your wholesale buyers ask for custom pricing on bulk orders without leaving your store. Buyers send a quote request from a product page or from your wholesale order form. You review it in the app, set your price, and send the quote. The buyer then receives a draft order by email so they can check out at your price.
Before you start
- Request a Quote is available on the Enterprise plan of WSH Order Form & ReOrder app.
- To show the quote button inside the order form, the wholesale order form must already be added to your store.
- To show the quote button on product pages, your theme must support app blocks (Online Store 2.0 themes).
How Request a Quote works
- A buyer clicks Request a quote on a product page or in the order form.
- They enter the quantity, an optional requested price, their name, email and a comment, then click Send request.
- The request appears on the Quotes page in the app. You can also get an email alert for each new request.
- You review the request, set your price for each product, and click Send quote.
- The buyer automatically receives a draft order by email and can check out from it at your price.
Step 1: Open the Quotes page
In your Shopify admin, go to Apps > WSH Order Form > Quotes. Click Show instructions at the top of the page to see the setup options inside the app.
Step 2: Choose where buyers can request quotes
You can add the quote button to your product pages, to your order form, or both.
Option 1: Add a button to product pages
This adds a Request a quote button with a short form to your product pages using a theme app block. Buyers request a quote for one product at a time.
- On the Quotes page, click Add to product page. Your theme editor opens on the product template with the Request a quote block already added.
- Drag the block to where you want it, for example under the Buy buttons.
- Optional: in the block settings, change the button text and colors, or turn the variant selector off.
- Click Save in the theme editor.
Option 2: Add a column to the order form
This adds a Request a quote button to every product in your wholesale order form. Buyers can add several products and send them in one quote request.
- On the Quotes page, click Open order form settings. This opens Customize on the Home page.
- Under Columns, switch on Request quote and drag it to where you want it.
- Optional: under Labels and Messages, edit the texts in the Request quote section, for example to translate them.
- Save your changes.
Step 3: Configure quote settings
Scroll to Quote settings on the Quotes page.
Who can request quotes
- Everyone: any visitor can send a quote request.
- Only logged-in customers: visitors who are not logged in see a "Log in to request a quote" button instead of the quote form, on product pages and in the order form.
Choose Only logged-in customers if you only want to receive requests from approved wholesale accounts.
Email notifications
- Check Email me when a new quote request arrives.
- In Send notifications to, enter the email address that should receive alerts.
- Click Save in the bar at the top of the page.
The notification email includes the customer's details, their message and the requested products. You can reply to it to answer the customer directly.
What your buyers see
When a buyer clicks Request a quote, a form opens with these fields:
| Field | Details |
| Quantity | Number of units the buyer wants. |
| Requested price | Optional. The price the buyer is asking for, shown in your store currency. The dropdown next to it lets the buyer choose per unit. |
| Name | Required. |
| Required. This is where the draft order is sent when you send the quote. | |
| Comment | Optional. Any extra details, such as delivery dates or packaging needs. |
In the order form, every product added to the quote is listed at the top of the form, and the buyer can click Remove to take one out. After sending, the buyer sees a note that the store will reply by email with prices.
Step 4: Manage quote requests
All requests are listed on the Quotes page. Use the tabs to filter by status, or search by customer name or email.
| Column | What it shows |
| Date | When the request was sent. |
| Customer | The buyer's name and email. |
| Source | Where the request came from: Product page or Order form. |
| Items | Number of products in the request. |
| Total | Total value of the quote. |
| Status | Where the quote is in the process. |
Quote statuses
| Status | Meaning |
| New | The request has arrived and has not been reviewed yet. |
| In review | Set this yourself while you work on the quote, for example while checking stock. |
| Sent | Set automatically when you click Send quote. The draft order has been emailed to the buyer. |
| Closed | Use this when you decide not to send a quote. The buyer is not notified. |
Review and send a quote
- Click a request in the list to open it.
- Review each product. The table shows the List price, the buyer's requested Price and the Quantity. Quantities come from the buyer's request and cannot be edited.
- In Your price, enter the price you want to offer for each product. It starts at the buyer's requested price, and the discount off list is shown under the field.
- Check the totals: List total, Discount and Quote total update as you change prices.
- Optional: add an Internal note. Only you can see it, the buyer never does.
- Click Send quote.
The quote status changes to Sent automatically. A draft order is created in Shopify, and the buyer receives it by email at your prices so they can complete checkout. You can find the draft order under Orders > Drafts in your Shopify admin.
The Customer card on the right shows the buyer's name, email and where the request was sent from.
Customize the email your buyer receives
The buyer receives Shopify's standard draft order invoice email. To change its wording or design, go to Settings > Notifications in your Shopify admin and edit the Draft order invoice template.
Change a quote's status
Use the Status dropdown on the quote page to move a quote between New, In review, Sent and Closed. For example, set it to In review while you check stock, or to Closed if you decide not to offer a price.
Status changes are for your own tracking. Setting a quote to Closed does not notify the buyer, so reply to them directly if you want to let them know.
