What are the onboarding steps for Wholesale Pricing Discount B2B?

Welcome to the Wholesale Pricing Discount B2B app! The new onboarding is built to get your first wholesale discount live in just a couple of minutes. It takes you through a short, guided flow:

• Welcome & playground — see exactly what your customers will see before you save anything.
• Step 1 of 2 — tell us about your store so we can pre-fill smart defaults.
• Step 2 of 2 — create your first discount group.
• Last step — choose how customers see wholesale prices on your storefront.

Welcome screen & live playground

When you first open the app, you'll land on the welcome screen. Use the Try it now playground on the right — drag the Wholesale discount slider and watch the customer preview update in real time. Nothing is saved here; it's only to show you how wholesale pricing will look.

When you're ready, click Set up my first discount to begin. (Prefer a hand? Book a 15-min setup call to connect you with our team.)

Step 1 of 2: What best describes your store?

Pick the option that matches your situation. We use this to pre-fill smart defaults so you don't start from scratch:

• I'm new to wholesale — set up your first customer group with a simple % off.
• I already have wholesale customers — tag them in Shopify and apply pricing across your catalog.
• I offer discounts based on order quantity — your customers get a better deal on larger orders (volume/tiered pricing).
• I set individual prices per product — set a unique wholesale price for each product.

Select an option and click Continue. Use Back at any time to return to the previous screen.

Step 2 of 2: Set up your discount group

A discount group links a set of customers to the wholesale pricing they should receive. Fill in the basics first:

• Group name — shown only to you in the dashboard. Customers never see it.
• Customer tag — any Shopify customer who has this tag is automatically enrolled in the group. You can add the tag in Shopify, or click Add customers to select existing customers right here.

As you make changes, the "What your customer will see" preview on the right updates live so you always know the result.

Next, choose your Discount type. There are three options, and the rest of the screen changes based on what you pick.

Option A — Percentage (same % across all products)

Apply a single percentage off your entire catalog for this group. Drag the Discount percentage slider to set the amount (for example, 40%). The preview shows the discounted prices and total savings instantly.

Option B — Per-product (custom prices per product)

Set a specific wholesale price for individual product variants. Use the Quick fill buttons (-10%, -20%, -30%) to price a whole product fast, or type an exact price into each variant field. The counter at the top right (e.g. "0 of 7 variants priced") tracks your progress.

Option C — Volume (quantity breaks)

Reward customers for buying more with tiered pricing. Choose what the tiers apply to (specific products or specific variants), set the Starting discount, and the app auto-generates quantity tiers for you — for example:

• 1–9 units → -40%
• 10–49 units → -45%
• 50+ units → -50%

The preview shows the "Buy more, save more" table exactly as customers will see it. You can fine-tune tiers per product (specific variants) later in the dashboard.

When your discount looks right, click Create discount group.

Last step: How should customers see these prices?

Your discount group is saved. Now choose where wholesale pricing appears on your storefront — you can change this any time from the dashboard.

There are two options:

• Dedicated Wholesale Section (DWS) — a separate /wholesale area added to your store. Goes live right now, no theme changes required, and you can link it from any menu/navigation.
• One store (B2B + B2C) — tagged customers see wholesale pricing across your existing product pages, cart, and collections. Takes about 3–4 minutes and includes a small, automated theme code customization (with a backup made so it's reversible anytime).

If you choose Dedicated Wholesale Section

You're live immediately. The app shows your wholesale section URL (for example, your-store.myshopify.com/apps/wpdapp/wholesale). Share it with customers or add it to your store's navigation. You can switch to full theme integration later from your dashboard.

Click Finish and go to the dashboard to complete onboarding.

If you choose One store (B2B + B2C)

Select One store (B2B + B2C) and click Integrate. The app handles the theme work for you in the background.

1. Pick a theme to integrate. Choose your theme from the dropdown (your Live theme is recommended). The app automatically backs up the theme before making any changes, so you can revert with one click any time. Click Next.

2. Enable the app embed (takes ~10 seconds). Theme integration runs in the background, but for tagged customers to actually see wholesale pricing, you also need to turn on the WH Pricing Discount app embed and save. Click Open theme editor and:

• In the App embeds panel on the left, toggle WH Pricing Discount to ON.
• Click the green Save button (top right) in the Shopify theme editor.

You're live — the dashboard

After finishing, you land on the dashboard with a "Wholesale pricing is live" confirmation. From here you can:

• See your App status, Wholesale orders, Total discount groups, and Total discount codes at a glance.
• Switch between Dedicated Wholesale Section and One Store (B2B + B2C) setups.
• Use Request theme integration if you switch themes or want to test wholesale pricing on a new one — your current live theme keeps working until the new one is ready.
